Can't remember if I had to remove the bracket for it but its not that bad. Make sure you watch out not to break the plug on top, its extremely fragile

Well for starters take your battery cable off so there is not power. Remove the cable from the alternator nut. there is a small bracket behind the alternator that it has one bolt to the alternator and another bolt to the block. Remove this bracket. you can reinstall it after but I don't see I use for it so I never reinstall it back.

You have to disconnect the red wire plug on top of the alternator. Thats the plug that goes to the PCM. it is a very small wire and easy to break if you dont unplug it before removing the alternator. Is kinda hard to reach the plastic release of the plug. I use a small angled flat screwdriver.

I can insert and twist the screwdriver behind the plastic relaese and unplug the red wire.
I have always remove the bracket that holds the alternator. Somehow I can't get the alternator out without removing it. You have 2 bolts that hold the alternator and one for the bracket.

You should be able to remove the alternator at that point.

I'll add that if you do break the thin wire don't sweat it there is a sticky on how you can fix it.

+1 Broke mine this weekend while doing headers and motor mounts, soldered in a splice, I'll find out if it worked when I get my ECM back in. /crosses fingers.

Where's the sticky on how to fix this plug? Just replaced my alternator and found this plug without wire, and this wire... without a plug.

    Thanks!
