    alternator!!!!!!!!!!!

what kind of alternator do you guys use? 105 amp?

the guy i bought mine from replaced it the day i bought it in june and when i had to remove it to do my steering rack, it wasn't even hooked up right (it was one STRAND of wire, that was it - i'm lucky i got home from oklahoma driving it like that!) ... last night i had trouble starting it cold only to check it over and not only see but also hear (finally) where that stupid squeal is coming from.

Yes the stock 105 amp alternator uses a single wire to the voltage regulator. Without it connected your alternator will not charge. I could charge but not very well at least. If you want a good replacement, I've been using a Kragen Oreilly Autolite Platinum for a bit now and I haven't had any issues. I was using the autozone alternators and had problems with the regulator giving out and them telling me we can't exchange it (lifetime warranty) cause there's nothing wrong with the alternator when their stupid machine only tests the diodes and not the internal regulator
