    air lid question

has anyone modified their air box lid to make it less restrictive or what are some ideas if anyone has any.

wanting to hear what other people have done to make their factory lid less restrictive, if anything, at all.

this, of course, is just for the time being until i get an aftermarket lid.

    thanks.

you could try sanding down the ridges on the inside. The larger restriction is the big "muffler" behind that. Ir reduces velocity and creats a whole lot of turbulance in the air stream.

Nope, as of right now my car is untouched. It might have had a lid done before though since the tube for the AIR pump is missing and so are the plastic tabs that hold that muffler to the rad support.

awesome. i just went and looked at the ridges on the bottom of the lid to give me an idea of what i would be doing.

probally not, out of curiousity, did u notice anything at all(while driving/accelerating) after u did that?

as of now, as far as intake/filter goes. i just did the free ram air mod last week, and ive had a k and n filter ever since i bought the car. i know, i need to suck it up and drop the $150 or so dollars and buy a lid.

    i will soon.

    thanks agian for the respsonses.

cut the baffles off the back and cut the fins that are inside the lid itself.

don't cut up your stock one (personally I'm saving mine) An aftermarket lid not only comes without baffles but has a raised rear to better direct the air into the maf. As this guy above me sounds like a good deal of look up some of the sponsors Sam is a good guy to ask
