    air check valve pipe

I was in the middle of attempting to change the passenger side air check valve due to a p1416 ses code, I unbolted and removed the air check valve and pipe and removed it from the engine to access it easier but after several tries I cannot get the damn air check valve off of the pipe, maybe I am trying to unbolt it the wrong direction or something? I have tried everything even spraying some PB blaster on the treads but it is hopeless it just wont budge, can you just buy another pipe and gasket at maybe a local Autozone or something? I am just really frustrated and want to get this fixed, thanks.

    Thumbs up

I tried it one last time and actually got them apart, I have to say Superman did a pretty good job of tightening them together at the factory! now it's time to relax and grab a cold one

I changed both check valves last year -- could not get either one to come off while still on the car. Removed the tubes from the manifolds so I could work on them off the car and still could not get them to budge. Ended up using a propane torch and wicked candle wax into the threads. That did the trick.

I too had to repalce both at different times. Due to SES codes. My friend at a local auto garage did it. Now after hearing about the problems I'm glad I did that.

Can someone take a picture of the air check valve any maybe point out where it is on the car? I have had a P1416 code on the car for the last 60 days or so but I have no idea what to look for.

You're a better man than me - cause I couldn't get apart! I finally just bought the whole tube and check valve.

No problem, glad I could assist. I also had a heck of a time changing the valves out on our car after we first bought it. I ended up removing the tubes from the manifolds and heating the unions with a propane torch. I then hit the threads with some candle wax while they were still hot and used a pipe wrench.
