    After my throttle body install....

installed a shaner S3, everything works fine, car runs great with it. The only issue I am having is that at start up for like a minute or so there is this sort of whistling coming from the intake. It never did this with the old TB, mind you it does it for a minute or less and stops. Just wanted to see if anyone had something similar happen or any info. Thanks

i've heard something like this happening if your TB gasket is not alligned, its the gasket on the intake manifold that matches up with the TB, you could try taking the TB off and putting it back on

or you could call Mark, he'd be glad to help ya!

Funny thing, this is the first ive heard of the whistle sound from another person. When i had my Brand new 01 SS back in 01 as soon as i changed the lid and filter it made this loud whistle noise and then after a minute would disappear. It sounded cool especially when you tap the throttle. No one had any idea as to what i was talking about, i didnt have a leak anywere just swapped the lid and put in a K&N. I was told it flows more air so it'll make that noise but definitly doesnt happen very often.

probably just the amount of air you're flowing. Mine does pretty much the same thing. On start up it sounds like a hoover vacuum cleaner that's run by a jet engine. I kinda like it.

thats exactly what it sounds like.....only for a minute or so and then gone, maybe its just when the rpms settle down

there is extra start up air that's added on start ups and it decays out

oh, ok, in this case you may be hearing the AIR pump

its supposed to dilute the exhaust emissions due to the CAT not being warmed up
