Acura question

Got a 99 tl with 55k on it and the main req light came on about 2k miles ago and I need to get it inspected wondering how I can turn it off? I had the guy from autozone read the codes and said nothing came up. Is it just a light that means the honda dealer wants to hose me on something I dont need? I disconnected the battery and that didnt work. Any and all help appreciated. thx

I think it's a light only the dealer can turn off...making sure at least the minimum amount of service required is done to the car. My parnets honda does the same thing..

In theory you could pull the bulb in the gauge out.....unless it's a sealed cluster.
