acess to troque converter bolts
i am about to pull my auto trans out of my 1999 trans am. how do i get to the troque converter bolts?

Pull out the single wire connector going into the oil pan (that's the oil level sender). Then remove the two 14mm bolts holding in the starter. Pull out the starter and let it hang on it's wire, it's ok if you're careful. Take a 10mm, 1/4" drive ratchet with a 3" extension and remove the black plastic flywheel cover the starter passes through. Then get a boat load of extensions, put a ratchet between the K-member and the sway bar, put the socket in the allen bolt, and loosen with all your might. Helps to have a 1/2" ratchet on the crank pulley with a 24mm socket and a 3" extension to turn the flywheel to it's next position, or possibly to have a buddy brace the rotating assembly against you turning the converter bolts.
