did u use a pressure gauge if not you may not be at the correct pressure what i would do is do it right the very first time bring it some where to get vaccumed out and filled again... if the system was completley empty then you probly have oxygen in the system which can be very bad for them causing it not to blow cold alot of the time too is the clutch is only on to build pressure in the system and it turns off when it reaches it. with it being engaged all the time is a good indicator of the system being low on freon also....

Most shops will diag for under $50.... Without the gauges, could be several things....

90% sure its gonna be the compressor.if you know the clutch is coming on and you have added freon, then feel the drier/accumulator with your hand.in your case, its probably not going to feel cold to the touch indicating the compressor has failed internally.if the compressor was working then the drier would be cold to the touch.when you hook your gauges up,you will probably find the suction and discharge pressures to be the same.thats because the compressor is not moving the freon.hope this helps.

Did you pull a vacumn first or did you just top it off? You need to pull a vacumn to try to eliminate as much of the moisture in the system as possible. When a system leaks down, the air will create condensation in the lines that can adversely affect the systems ability to cool. Take it to a shop and have them pull a vacumn on the system and refill it.
