Ac flap

Hey I'm having trouble with my ac on a 2001 trans am it blows hot air when I have it set to cool, the compressor works and it has freon my buddy told me it was the flap not swapping from heat to cool. My question is how do I locate the flap, and how do I fix it any help would be great thanks in advance

there is a cable that controls the blend door. When you move the knob from hot to cold listen carefully. Can you hear the blend door seating when it gets to full hot or full cold? If not you could have either a cable problem or a blend door problem.
