AC died today... in traffic. HELP!

I have a 2000 Z28 and today in traffic I heard what sounded like someone throwing a bunch of water on a camp fire and then saw a small amount steam come out from under my hood for about 10 seconds before it stopped.! I immediately pulled over and popped my hood but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. When I got back in my car and turned it on I noticed my AC was blowing hot air. I had the system refilled about 3 months ago and it was working great until this happened. Any ideas before I take it to the shop tomorrow? BTW it drives fine.

I would do a visual inspection of the system - sounds like you may have popped a hose or system component. You could also hit it with a charge and as soon as it builds any pressure it should start leaking - just follow the hiss.

Time to get out the UV dye and search for the leak with a black light. It may just be an O-ring or like Jeff said it could be a hose or worse. The only way you will know the true source of the leak is to use the dye.
