    abs part help!!!!!

    i have a 97 z28 m6 with traction control. when i was replacing a rear wheel stud i damaged a cog like piece on the axel and now my traction control and abs is screwed. what is that piece called and where can i get another?

    the part you damaged is call an abs reluctor ring; the one you need is specifically for a traction control optioned car, a none traction control vehicle abs reluctor mounts inside the center of the differential, this type wont help you. you need the style which mounts on the axle. if you found a like vehicle differential with a good axle you could save a little money and some work. all you would have to do is removed youre diff. cover and and 5/16 or 8mm bolt which would release a shaft that would allow you to push youre old axle in enough to remove the c-clip and slide it out an a new one in.once youre new axle is in place reinstall all of the above and fill diff. with fluid and youre abs light will be repaired. the dealer can sell you a new one or try e-bay or a local junkyard.
