99 z28 lacking power
spark plugs? fuel injecters? at first i thought it was happening because a bad batt connection she would run killer then fall on her face when trying to get on it. i have the six speed and never had a problem lighting up the tires get a bark first through forth and now barley when dumping the clutch in first. buying the best gas in town and put a little octane got a little better but around 4000 rpm starts to sputter and no power lame. any ideas if plugs what kind stock? injecters? what is the best way to pull out the back plugs. app any advice and thanks for takeing the time.

IMO the first thing you should do is check/clean your MAF sensor. When those things get dirty our cars start to gag and fall on its face. Try that for starters. Use CRC MAF cleaner if that is available at your nearest parts store.

My Z lacked power randomly when my fuel pump was going out(over the course of about a month and a half).
Fuel pump maybe? Or fuel filter?
Just some thoughts...Good luck finding the culprit.

You can also try checking to see what your fuel pressure is at the fuel rail if cleaning the MAF does not help your situation.

there is a band clamp on the front and back side of it. Loosen them and pull it loose. Unplug the wiring harness from it before you go pulling on it though.
Pretty simply...you'll see once you see it.

Loosen the clamps that hold the MAF on(flathead screwdriver) and remove the MAF from the throttlebody and airbox. Spray with MAF cleaner or brake cleaner and let dry. Then reinstall. While you are at it, take a rag and clean the inside of the throttlebody and blade.

It makes it easier if you take the coil packs off. Get a socket extension and a swivel attachment. I run NGK's in my car and they seem to work great. good luck

your catalytic converters are most likely the problem... the engine is trying to push out a great amount of gas through clogged cats making it bog down... i'm willing to bet your car drives almost fine under normal driving but seems to die out at high rpms or when you get on it...
