    99 block

I know that the 98-mid 99 blocks are not that good past 550hp. I have a 99 ta and was wondering is there a way to tell if i have the good block. Besides pulling the engine out?

Well the block itself should not be an issue at 500+'ish RWHP....the bottom end is another story....crank flex (OEM) will be an issue.....rod bolts(OEM) would most definetly be an issue.....I personally would not spend the bucks to forge the bottom end of that motor...I would go with a LQ9 block and a all forged bottom end....close to the same bucks....
