    Block is different compared to the 00 and 02. 98 and 99 LS engines had the small oil passages. 00 is when they opened it up and some 02's got the LS6 with the better bay to bay breathing. Rod bolts are also different same as the heads. The heads are shitty and perimeter bolt but you can easily swap them out for a centerbolt high flow heads. Yes 98's did get bigger injectors and the fuel pump setup was different. No necessarily higher flowing just a difference in the packaging. I modded the crap out of my 98 so if you plan on modding, just get a 98. They're fairly cheaper than the others but for modding purposes that's great cause the extra cash you would've spent just goes into a good H/C package
