no it actually a Vortec 5.7
the horsepower that should be there isnt i have a feeling it timing chain and Distributor
cause the timing is bouncin all over the place when its idling. my pickup has 252,000 miles on it so i dont think it will ever run perfect but i want the shake to stop any ideas or thoughts would be nice

Dude with that many miles isn't it TIME to just get an upgrade??? At that mileage after you find out your current problem, something else will act up.....It's kinda like old age bro..........

The timing mark will bounce around if the timing chain is shot.. I'd go with replacing it.. However you could also be seeing signs of compression loss and excessive ring/cylinder wall wear among other things.. I'll bet you're even begining to hear rod rap after it sits over night till the oil psi. comes up..
