    98 Camaro>Rusted out Cats> will 2002s Fit?

Does anyone know if you can take the cats off of a 98 camaro and bolt a set from a 2002 straight on, in thier place. I haven't been able to get the car up on a lift, but from trying to poke my head under what I see looks a bit different.

If it solves the problem I can get the Y-Pipe off the the 2002 as well, and perhaps even the manifolds...it would have to fit then I imagine. But I'd prefer to just swap the cats (or cats and y-pipe) if possible...every additional piece adds more labour and more $.

Oh, and the 02 sensors would be the same one's used between the 98 and 02 wouldn't they?

The cars are the same, but some small things did change. I'm wondering if the exhaust was one of the small changes. The piping coming from the cats does not appear identical (what little of it I can see with my head half under the car)

And I know that the 2002s DO use Different exhaust manifolds.

I've got a set of short headers and factory y-pipe off a 99 t/a that would for sure bolt up. PM me if your interested - I'd let them go pretty cheap. The y-pipe even has the rear o2s in them. I do believe there is a difference between 98 and 02 exhaust.

Yep. They're different. A 98 - 99 ls1 is the same. Then 00 - 02 is the same. Like I said, I've got a stock 99 exhaust sitting in my shop if you need one. Let me know. Boneyards are a good place to look too.
