'95 S10/'04 GTO LS1 swap
Hello, I'm in the process of swapping an '04 GTO LS1 into my S10. The stock oil pan will not work so I'm gonna be using an LS2 oil pan. Problem is now I'm gonna have to put the dipstick and tube in the block. I've read the hole is molded into the block, just a matter of drilling it out and tapping it. Would any of you guys know where on the block it's located and what size drill/tap I should use? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, one more thing. I have the t56 tranny. Is the slave cylinder for the clutch internal and where would it be?

you have to notch the cross member and use a 5.3 oil pan , and have to mod your sump pick up

There is a guy in my town that has been building ls1 powered s-10 for awhile now for people all over the south east, but he says that he is tired of them now. I have talked with him and he said that he wants to use the Colorado chassis to do something different.

BigJohn, I heard the 5.3L pan would work, even have a homemade book someone put together when they were doing a similar swap, but the pan seems to be too deep. It would hang about 1 1/2" below the cross member according to some accounts. I also read the LS2 pan would fit and it's shallower. Any thoughts?

I was looking at the motor and tranny and was wondering if I'd be able to change the GTO's shifter to one from a camaro to move it forward a bit. Would this be possibe or would I have to buy a conversion kit or something?
