    Exclamation 95 3.4L Won't Start?

hey guys, got a little problem..just looking for some advice to save some green.

    heres the situation:

i tried to start my car last night as it was very cold out. it started for a split second, then quit and i havent been able to start it since. It tries to turn over and then the starter clicks sucessively, with the guages and lights blinking with the clicks.

Heres what i know ((which isnt much )) :

-first thought was to jump it so i tried to jump the car and it does not help.
    - my system has been in the car a while, and even with no prob. before..maybe the alternator's dead?
    - all the lights and bells and radio, including the subs work perfectly with no dimming or distortion what so ever, so i think the battery is ok.
    - i popped the hood and the alternator tries to turn but stops everytime.
-the fuel pump is new and the tank is full.
    - plugs and wires are new.

this may be a simple thing but im trying not to get to the point where i need to spend some extra cash on a diagnostics check. hopefully someone who knows a little something on here can help me? all help is appreciated...thanks all...

if it turns over first check fuses then check to see it fires if if does then check the timing chain

Sounds like a battery issue or if you have a secruity system it may be killing the starter and making your lights flash. You can try to clean your connections to make sure you have good contact.
