91 camaro z28 vats problem please help!!!

Hi guys im new to this sight but not new to a maro!!! I have a 91 z28 305 tpi. I lost my key to the origanl column,and i have a new column with a new key.well we all kno that new key aint gonna work unless i got lucky and got the same key code number but unfortanintly its not.is there a way to find out what key i need or resistors. Keep in mind that i do not kno the value of the resistance in my old origanal key that went to the car/ecm. Thanks and keep them maros rockin!!!

Too late now but the dealer might have been able to make you a new key using the vin number. You are going to have to have the dealer reprogram the vats for the new chip.

There are 15 resistance values I think. You could try each one until you find it. Some cars require you to wait 3 minutes in between each attempt so this could take you a while.
I'd probably try to have the dealership cut you from the VIN, then use that resistance number to bypass the VATS

thanks guys i will go to dealer and have them run vin,i kno there r several ways too do this and i will let you guys kno what works.thanks guys and have a happy new year ps if you got a maro ,please melt the tires for me sence i wont be able to lol
