Well were I'm going is you are obviously confused if you think under filling a LS is needed what so ever due to windage. Have you ever seen a LS pan off?

I think NOT or you just don't understand. Thats where!

Just like a regular SBC huh....................

Lets stay focused on the question at hand, the member asked how much oil you put in when you change your oil and filter.

Yeah a bunch!! We under fill all our motors here at the machine shop.

I won't waste anymore time with you. But telling people to under fill the pan on a LS motor due to windage is plain stupid.

Remember there are many kids on here that are clueless and believe anything they read so spiting out BS doesn't help anyone on here.

I was gonna joke around with you when you said that-thats all- you are taking me the wrong way I think. Gm changed their reccomended plug gap from .060 to .040 or.045 and I was gonna ask you what you do when they change their minds. Just a bad joke I guess.

Oh, now I understand. A little dense here sometimes I did not know they changed the recommended gap, now I'm in a panic!

Your fine till you decide to change them. I have read the stockers should be fine till 100,000 miles- I decided to change mine when I bought my car with 67,000 on it-but it really didnt even need it.

I use 10w-30w Royal Purple or Mobil 1 Advanced Super Syn., with a K&N Oil filter. I usually put between 5.5 and 6 quarts. Never had a problem with anything. I never put under 5.5 or over 6.

6 qts with a longer filter. K&N HP2006 or Mobil 1 M1-206 or equivilent (they are for LSX based truck engines). It holds an extra .5 qt.

I use Castrol syntec or Ams oil 5w40.

OK JR. you just go back to your delivery truck and look for snow patches!!
"i drive as slow as possible down the high way so we dont get to jobs very fast pisses the boss of but i get overtime! lol and i do burnouts in the line truck every time i find a snow patch lol"

Sorry to inform you I'm NO "sponsor" and don't get or need ANY more business from this site.
I'll continue to build motors and fast cars you just keep those delivery's up.

Considering the clearance under these cars, a longer filter that sticks out beyond the pan to catch on something doesn't sound like a good ideal.

It's what I have ran and never had a problem.

Shucks the long tube headers and Y-pipe hang slightly lower anyway, I figure they would be the first to touch anything, but haven't hit those either

You aughta see the 2 quart filter on my truck or chevelle,,,,now thats a filter....lol
