    5.3 into trans am

I just purchased a 5.3 from a 2004 silverado to put in my trans am. Just wondering if i need to use my ls1 oil pan and other stuff on this engine. I know i have to swap intakes, but what else?

Oil pan and accessories, pretty sure the water pump is different and alternator/accessories are located differently.

Swap everything over, from the oil pan to the accessories.

Stock tune "might" get it started and running, but I wouldn't run around with it anymore than you have to. A 5.3 will require completely different timing and fuel maps.

3-5 days total once you drop it in the mail. He generally gets them back out within a day of receipt.

Hate to be a noob. But what is the reason to put a 5.3 in your T/A?

Yep. But it was a used engine, and sadly 3 weeks of it working in my car. The oil pump went bad and I spun some rod bearings. This time I got a lq9 and no parts other than the intake, oil pan, block, etc is used.
