400 hp
I want 400 hp! The mods i want to do would be headers, ls6 intake, ls6 heads ported, and possibly true duals. My current mods are PP MAF and TB, SLP lid, cat back, smooth bellows. How close would I be to 400hp? Are ebay headers a bad choice? should I go 1 3/4 or 1 7/8? Keep in mind all the mods need to be very streetable cuz this is my dd

RWHP or crank hp? if you plan 400+ RWHP go with 1 7/8 and id stay away from the ebay headers

If your talking crank, with LT's, ory or catted, SLP lid, exhuast and tune you should be about 340 RWHP. If you count a few other small mods, like UD pulley, TB bypass, 160 Thermo, Smooth Bellow and exuast cut out could pick up a few more. To the wheels would be way different and require a cam or cam and head work.
1993 Z28 M6: K&N Intake, 52mm TB, TB Bypass, No Cats, Exhaust Cutout, Flowmaster Muffler, 3.90 Gears, 160 Thermo, Tune, BMR Springs, Bilstein Shocks, 3 Point SFC,s & MGW Shifter.

I would do these ebay headers in a heart beat ( read the 8th post down) here.
You're most likely not very close with your current mods. Without heads it would take a pretty nice size cam to net you 400 to the wheels. With heads you could probably get it with a 224.

I purchased stainless steel headers off of Ebay for $180. They bolted up with no problems or issues, but I did buy different gaskets than they supplied to be safe. Worked for me and the car sounds great

i was told 1-7/8 isnt necessary and (I THINK) the kentucky speed guys have 1-3/4 on their 638 rwhp car. you dont want to lose the torque from no back pressure

Heres what he said...not to be confrontational, or maybe he confused himself, happens to everyone.

I think for you 1 3/4 will be just fine. 1 7/8 is for the extream ends. The way I look at things with car parts is buy it right the first time and be done with it "within reason". to hit 400 wheels your going to need a cam. There is a thread posted Guess My HP and he has about the same setup with nubers posted now.
