383 Setups and Numbers????
I just built a 383 and am still breaking it in...150 miles so far. I know it's a little late to be considering a different cam, but I was told the cam I put in it was a little small and I wouldn't really reap the benefits of the motor. Who out there has a 383, what #s are you putting down, and what mods do you have to make that HP? LG said they'd like me to get 1K on the motor before tuning, so I have no idea what I'll put down...I'm hoping at for 425 rwhp or better. Sig is below...

I have a mild 383.
Here are the internals:
TEA 5.3 1.5 heads with 2.05 intake 1.60 exhaust
Forged Dimond pistons approximate compression 11.2 to 1 with current heads
Forged Eagle Rods 6.125 inch
Forged Eagle Crank
Rotating assembly balanced by Evans Automotive
Comp Cams XER 612/244/112 +4
Rollmaster Timing chain
TSP oil pump
She put down 456/450 with nice flat curves... I think a FAST intake and better exhaust could get me in the 475/460 range, which is pretty good for what I've spent.

Heh. You are never going to hook on the street with those 4.10s... Let me know what she puts down. Ben

Tell me about it...I'm getting sideways at 60-65 and dropping to 3rd. I'm running Cooper 245/50/16 now, but I was wondering if the BF Drag radials would do OK
Oh, and I found out I'll have to wait till next weekend for the tune since the shop's tuner is only there every other Saturday.

I think you better have money set aside for a 12-bolt if you put DRs on her. Lack of traction is your friend because the first time you dead-hook, you'll probaly turn the 10-bolt into confetti...
