    2004 tahoe rear view mirror question

    My wife told me hr rear view mirror compass and thermometer stopped working and that the passenger side air bag warning light is on .

    any clues to what the problem might be ?

    It COULD be the battery going south.

    Thanks but I replaced the battery a couple of months ago, no cranking problems at all.

    Subject: SIR MIL On Air Bag Fuse Open

    Models: 2003-2006 Cadillac Escalade Models
    2003-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe
    2003-2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic
    2003-2007 GMC Sierra Classic
    2003-2006 GMC Yukon Models

    Condition/Concern:

    Some owners may comment of a SIR MIL and if equipped the temperature/compass display on the inside rearview mirror is inoperative. This concern may be caused by the 15 Amp Air Bag Fuse open. Reports from the field have shown in some cases circuit 1139 Yellow may be shorted to ground at the Left I/P Junction Block mounting bracket.

    Recommendation/Instructions:

    To correct the concern repair the wiring as necessary and insulate harness and mounting bracket with foam tape to prevent a reoccurrences

    Thanks again for the info It took about 15 min to diagnose and fix the problem.
