    2002 ls1 into 1998 ws6?

    does anyone know for sure if the 2002 ls1 will fit my 98 ws6.my engine just broke.thanks

    no it wont. different sensors. you will need to modify some wires.

    i blew up my 98 ls1, all they ship out brand new is 04 ls1s and i got it. the shop dropped it in just fine

    well i think he is talking about a ls1 block from a 02. the engine is the same. will fit just fine.

    really? because i am planning on buying a used complete engine.can i do it myself?

    Yes you just need to use the sensors out of the old motor, because the computer is different.All LS series engines are the same exterenally 4.8,5.3,5.7(ls1 or 6),6.0,6.2,7.0 (any i forgot) this is starting to become a game with G.M. how many LS~whatever is their going to be. every time you think you got the best stuff available a week later G.M. makes something better. Not that i'm complaing its great to be able to call and G.M parts store a buy all Aluminum 15* Small block Chevy w/ a stock clyinder head that flows #'s greater then the best heads of just 10 years ago.. Man what a great time to be a GERNAL MOTORS FANATIC, Now a Supercharged LS3, MAN I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!
