2000 z28 egr?

new to the f body world, so take it easy on my stupidity....
the other day i started to hear a rattle coming from the passaenger side of the engine bay, i wasnt gettin any codes on the compy so i wasnt too worried about it but it was one of those sounds that could drive a guy crazy... sounded like a metal on metal ping only when the engine was coming down for being reved up...n it was constent sound never got faster never got slower just tink tink tink tink ect. so i decided to take the hose from the header to what im being told is the egr by some crap stores around me house n the one told me i can only get this part from a. junkyard b. dealership...so inconclusion i think they're full of shit...someone has to has this part jegs, summit, somewhere this part has to be.
so if someone could conform that this metal hose coming off my header is my egr that would be outstanding n if so an egr where can i get one without having to junkyard it up or get bent over by a dealership.

Welcome. Hard to tell what part you're talking about w/o a picture. Metal hose coming off header? Was it bolted on, if so was it on top or bottom?

It could be either your EGR valve pipe coming from header, or it could be an AIR pipe that goes to a check valve.

like he said it's hard to tell without a pic but it sounds like it could be the air pipe gasket. take off the air pipe.. i think it's two 10 mm bolts check the gasket replace it if needed. hey if it doesn't fix it your out 5 bucks and 20 minutes
