1997 Ls1
Just acquired one with 69K miles. I don't need big HP....really just woud like to "rebuild" to breathe some life into it (while its off the car) and maybe add a more aggressive cam.
I am new to the LS1, so appreciate your responses.
Question: what work shoudl be done to "rebuild". I understand that sleeves are thin enough that boring the block is not an option. Pistons? Valves? Heads? What things "break" as the mileage builds?
Thanks

I really doubt it needs a rebuild at 69k miles. I would take a look inside and determine whether it needs it or not, not judging by mileage.
