no.
lots of things to consider though. what kind of mods are you thinking about? how well was the car maintained? mileage is not always directly related to condition. these cars can last a long time, but if it's been abused it might not last very long at all.

Well, for mods i would probebly get the usual like headers and and a sports tunning and i would also consider a cam to go in there oh and the k&n system but thats about it.
Ive had it since it had 60000 but i do drive it alot. i put about 3000 miles a month so it gets its oil changed monthly. It dose have a salvaged title though

Mods on our car did not start until after 71,500 miles.

It's never too late. Mine has 130k and I'm just getting started on it. In fact, it's the perfect time since its time to start replacing crap anyway!

Hey no fair! I had to start replacing stuff at about 45K. Trans puked the sunshell. Then 3 months later the water pump. After that I started modding. About 25K miles later with no problems since. Just take care of it and you won't have too many problems. There are many cars on here with 200K on them and still modding.

Mine probably needed it sooner but I rescued it at 127k. Rear end screaming so loud you couldn't talk to the person in the passenger seat, a clutch so far shot that the slave/throw out bearing fell apart into four pieces when I separated the trans, rotors so warped that they wouldn't lay flat on the floor- it was bad. I refer to mine as the "Rescue Bird" for a reason!

I would like to say I rescued mine. But I ordered it new. All the broken parts and wear are from my heavy foot.

Just think of it this way if you do heads and cam it is a great opportunity to replace a lot of the valve train

I like this post. Good to know that people really don't consider mileage when modding. I bought mine from a salvage yard and put on a hood, fascia, fenders, lights, and an inner tie rod end. It had 106,000 on it. But the interior was absolutely perfect and no leaks of any kind underneath. Threw on some SS wheels also. Added a ported TB, magnaflow, and SLP lid and have long tubes, ORY and a frost tune in the mail.

The way I look at is my dad and I are building his 55 Chevy with well over 200k miles... nothing will be original and everything will be modded- it's never too early or too late to start modding.
