You pretty much need an F-body specific 12 bolt as nothing else has the torque arm provision. As stated, both Strange and Moser manufacture these axles.

General rule of thumb for the 10 bolt swap.

    A4 go with a 12 bolt
    M6 go with a 9 inch

This of course is if you plan to be putting some serious power to her and taking her to the strip.

I went with the Moser 9 inch and couldn't be happier.

There are actually many manufacturers who make 9", 12 bolt, or Dana 60 rear ends for f-bodys. As stated Moser, Strange, Midwest Chassis are some of the bigger names. Unless you are putting major power through your drivetrain, a Dana 60 is usually overkill and is about the heaviest weighing between the 3. Most manufaturers offer many options - as in keeping your stock brake setup, sway arm mounts, ect. Good luck with the swap.

I hade read this in a car carft mag, 12 blot vs.9 inch, first off yes the 9in is stonger cus of the pinion angle, thus makeing it stonger and easyer to work on, but the pinion angel on the 9in loses 2-3% power vs an 12 blot, and the dana 60 is the heavest and stongest of the two but have the most power loss as well, the 9in is only 2% stonger then the 12 blot you wont belive this but the 10 blot has the best power loss of them all put weak as hell so it like dude said depens on what you want to to with the car if you want serios draging go with dana 60 (I mean like outlaw class) but the 9in or the 12 blot will be just fine, and as far as the rule of tumb goes its

    3,73A4
    4.11M6 (9in or 12 blot)

I have a moser 12 blot with 3,73 when I put in the car felt like a more richer refined you cant go wrong with an 9in but can we keep it mind its made by FORD!!! yes it stonger but we have better powertrain loss and JUST as stong as the Ford, So have to ask your self do you want to sell out to the dark side just to have a little bit stonger rearend, and easyer to work on, or keep your parts in the genral's house and have better powertrain loss, food for thought! I LOVE MY MOSER 12 BLOT!!!

It all depends on what your goals are for your car.

In most cases, the 12 bolt will be strong enough. I have seen both 12 bolts and 9" rear ends meet their demise. Most likely though, the 9" broke due to improper set-up, maintenance, or improper suspension set-up.

Wheel hop is a rear-ends nightmare.

With everything, there is always a compromise.
