    00 vette or 00 ws6?

im about to seal the deal to trade my 00 ws6 for a 00 c5 coupe, but before i do, i just want a few of ur guys imput.. i still have to drive the vette, so i dont know what they are like. ive heard from various posts that vettes handle better and other posts saying they dont. also, there is a variable ride control. does that drastically effect handling? lastly, vettes are currently going more than ws6s and ss's in the same year and milage from what i see, but do you think that the 98-02 ss and ws6 will ever reach the point of the 72 455ho and will the 98-02 vettes depreciate faster than the 98-02 ss and ws6?

    Million dollar question

Man, you are asking for the old crystal ball. The Corvettes will never be more 'special' because they have been made forever with no signs of stopping. Well kept 'vettes hold their value as we all know. If you rag it out it obviously becomes worthless. With the F-bodies I honestly think by 2010 (just 4 more years) that these will really HOLD their value. Not the ratted out ones, but the well cared for LS1's. Eventually the F-bodies will cost more than the vettes, but when?? Same with the GTO's, they will level off real quick with such a short life span too. Top dollar for them within 10 years.

i owned an 02 vette and let me tell you it was nite and day difference between handling.
simply put, vette = majors, f body = minor leauge.

You are going to like driving the Vette . I am guessing that the value on down the long road will not come into play for you. I doubt you would keep either car that long. You had the Bird , now try the Vette . Later on you might be in a ??????? Enjoy

upgrading to a vette.....the variable ride control will affect handling but I think(from what I remember--I am not positive though) that it has a soft ride setting an automatic setting and a firm setting........ so it should affect handling in a positive way depending on how you want to drive it.

In the long run the vette will retain its value rather well, unless of course it ends up a tree or a light pole. But, in the short run, everything you have to or want to replace on the vette will be far more expensive than the WS6. The tires alone are run flat supercar tires and the fronts are a different size than the rears, not that that is bad just spendy to replace. Yes the C5 handles like a dream...more like a go kart with elephant nuts!!! But the maintenance end is what go us to get rid of our 98.

If you can afford it-and it fits your lifestyle go for it.If you are worried about collectability don't plan on driving it much. And like was already mentioned,it'll cost you more to drive the Vette as a daily driver.

The FRC handles a bit better but the coupe isnt a slouch by any means. The looks alone would make get an FRC though.
