Flowmaster vs. Cutout #'s
I understand the whole diff. dyno diff. day explanation but this is absurd and the power loss IS NOTICEABLE when driving. I had my car dynoed on a Dynojet running through a Flowmaster muffler and I dynoed 310 hp & 340 Tq. I then had a 3 inch Flowtech cutout welded in the I-pipe and on a Mustang dyno I hit 332 Hp & 340 Tq I knew there was more jump in the car with the cutout open but I couldn't believe Flowmaster choked it that badly!

part of the problem could be the different dynos used to attain the HP #'s

ss---I agree, but dynojets dyno HIGHER then Mustang dynos. My higher hp number came on a Mustang dyno.

damn that is a good and bad situation, you got great number with a cutout, but its sucks that flowmasters dont flow.
I made the same mistake installing a flowmaster for my first mod, I will be installing a cutout this week. For $30 and a nice hp increase, thats a beautiful thing!!!

Getting ready to order my Hooker catback in a few weeks, then Pacesetter headers are coming right after that. Other members rave about the combo and Hooker is one of the if not the best flowing catbacks out there. :beer3:

I have a 2001 T/A with the Hooker cat back system and I love it. Not only did it give me a good power gain, but it sounds really good. Not too loud, but still throaty sounding. I also will be having the Pacesetter headers put on Thursday and off road y-pipe, I will have to post and tell you what kind of a difference I felt with the headers installed.

The car has already been tuned, probably needs done again, but the place I had LS1 edit done went out of business.... SO, I need to find a new place now. The headers added NICE power gains. Along with the headers, I added a new torque arm, box welded lower control arms and a stronger rear end girdle. The car has NO wheel hop now, very nice! I also love the way the Pacesetter headers sound with the Hooker exhaust. It is loud when you get on it, but when cruising, you can't even tell the headers are on.
