I thought 370whp-ish on a DJ would be around 116mph traps?

Well he is FULL bolt-on, not JUST headers, tune. I dunno, I think the trap seems legit. A little on the fast side for most but overall seems right. Although, my friends cammed TA went 117mph and he was full-bolt on with some weigh reduction.

no offense bro, the dyno numbers seems legit and all but really you shouldnt have boasted the 116 trap.. thats an EASY 11 second time.

(im on left) this run was made with full bolt ons and spraying 100 shot from the 1/8 mile marker. So you can get a little taste of what a 116 trap would do

oh and for more comparison.. my car has never been dynoed but the car on the right is an 05 GTO that put down roughly 370rwhp on a dynojet. granted its heavier and has torque management out the ass but he still only trapped 100...

i don't think anyone doubts his dyno # , after all dynos are great for tuning but vary wildly from one to another...BUT 116 mph with his mods NEEDS more explaining......but he posted a couple times and doesn't say anything , so....I say he got the car with a cam or heads, or both.......
3500lb cars running 116 are making 425-450 factory rated hp......
his car came with 350hp....75-100hp with his mods.....BULL.

he just wont give an et... ET and Trap speeds are just as consistant as dynos. Different dynos yield different result and different tracks do as well so unless you are running all the same conditions then times/ dyno numbers cant really compare cars. Only way to compare is to line them up side by side. He could very well have pulled 116 trap but i wanna see his damned time!

I don't know the person involved, and cannot vouch one way or the other for what he/she is claiming. However...

Dyno's are for tuning. Nothing more, nothing less. Doesn't matter if it is a Mustang Dyno, Dynojet, or Dynosaur - they are a tuning tool. Also, you cannot make a blanket statement that a Mustang dyno reads xxxx HP higher/lower than a dynojet. It is a load-bearing dyno, and will read differently depending upon the inputs by the operator.

116 mph is possible with a bolt-on LS1. Not common, would probably need very good air/track, and some lightening of the car would probably be necessary, but it is not totally unheard of.

You cannot make a blanket statement that "xxx RWHP is needed to run xxx MPH in the 1/4 mile". There are too many other factors to consider, most importantly vehicle weight, and also things like gearing, track, weather, driver skill, etc.

It measures at the dyno flywheel. What you see is rwhp.

You can get a very general idea of what kind of power you are making based on your 1/4 mile MPH and vehicle weight. Be advised that there are many variables that can change this, including air quality, track condition, track elevation, driver skill, etc, etc. However, the formula below will give you a pretty good guestimate:

    HP = (mph/234)^3 * Weight

I don't know your weight, but I'd guess around 3650 lbs with driver. Using that and 111 mph, you come up with the following:

    111/234 = .474
    .474 ^3 = .1065
    .1065 * 3650 = 389 HP.

Note that this is flywheel HP. A typical T56 street car should lose ~50 HP going from the flywheel to the rear wheels, giving you ~339 RWHP.
