    in a nutshell, cars within a certain category compete amongst themselves. A stock Z28 or TransAm would be in F Stock category. At my local club (ovr-scca) the winner within the class gets 100 pts and the others get points based on how they faired against the best. I'm kinda new to it so I'm not sure if that's standard or what. There are trophies given out at the end of each event for the top few in each event, and again at the end of the year for the guys who lead the points standing for each category. To win those, you pretty much need to attend every event unless you are in a category at your club where you don't have many regulars.
