THIS is your problem as to why your car is bogging down. You CANNOT dump the clutch. You have to feather it out. Your car does not have enough power at 2-3K to just dump the clutch and expect to accelerate good.

You should be taking off the line as if you are leaving from a stop light, but fast. Feather/slip the clutch out from 3K. As soon as you start to roll, floor it.

i jacked up the rear and spun the pass tire one time... the driveshaft spun 1.75 times
i did this several times and both directions, same result ofcorse.

I'm sorry but I don't care what gears he has, he shouldn't be running in the 15's

Your DS turned 1.75 times when you spun the tire once? Did you mark it with chalk or a marker to count the revolutions? That doesn't make sense to me.

Jack up one tire if you have an open diff, or both tires if you have a working posi or locking differential. Rotate the tire one full revolution for posi's and lockers and 2 full revolutions for open diffs. Carefully count the number of full revolutions the driveshaft makes. This is your gear ratio.

In other words, if the drive shaft turns 3 turns, you probably have a 3.73 gear ratio. If it turns 3.5 times, you have a 3.42 gear ratio. Turning the tire for twice the number of full revolutions and dividing the drive shaft revolutions by two will give you a more accurate reading.

i had both tires off the ground and put a paint mark on the ujoint.
it was raining this morning so i drove my mazda6. if it dosnt rain tonight i may try to get to the track again. if i do a burnout it always leaves two lines.

Key word is "should", but in a lot of instances a clogged cat will not throw a code.

OP still should check fuel pressure as I stated in an earlier post in my opinion. Cheap and easy and rules out a few possible things being bad.

be careful ..if there is a fueling issue etc...running your car all out could cause some bad problems...however...maybe with you dont dumping the clutch...will held better times and a end to this thread

Both 6 speeds and one had a wrecking yard 10 bolt out of an auto with 2.73s and the other guy had recently installed 4.10s! Well the guy with the 4.10s went from a 12.80 to a 14.30 just with the rear end swap and very similar 60fts. Almost 2 full seconds. Check your gearing by removing the cover ( prolly needed to change the oil anyway!LOL) and count the ring gear teeth and pinion gear teeth and divide the two to find your ratio!
a buddy of mine was also running 14.5 15.0 s on his stock 2000 ss. He decided to put 3.73s and found 13.5 easy. someone had put an auto rearend wit 2.73 on his car.
