Sinister, SixGun- 2001 SS, 2002 L36 M5
Went to the track, killed some cobras...
heres the setup, some friends of mine were at the strip today and had some guys they knew there who happened to own a pair of cobras.
anyhow, as soon as i pull in, the cobra owners are asking me to run and blah blah blah.
anyhow, they were apparently pissed cause i have a cobra killer decal on the SS, so they talked shit about me having to take it off when they spank me.
okay...
so i made a couple motor runs of about 8.30 and what have you. then i changed jets to my 150 shot and lined up on the first cobra. it was a pulleyed, exhaust, intake, tuned 03. anyhow, i ran a 7.646 @ 96.13mph and destroyed his ass. as i was informed, when i shifted into 2nd, it pulled my left front wheel off the track
so then the other cobra wants some, car was a full bolt on car, cammed, making 22lbs of boost. next at the line, i treed his lights out and ran like a 7.70 and once again spanked ass.
so i was going to make some motor only runs solo, and he wanted another piece, so i armed the kit and ran him again. this time right before 3rd, my bottle ran out, and backfired. destroyed my MAF (see pics) anyhow, i still beat him
goddamn cobra drivers.
so this weekend's breakdown:
93 octane - $25
SLP MAF - $195
K&N Filter - $62
beating over $100k of cobra...priceless.

All Black- 83, 87, 02 All WS6 T/As
Then Cobras must really make it up in the back 1/8th... Cause I'm running 7.6-7.7 1/8 too.. but they are running 11.xx 1/4 times.. where I can only manage a 12.1....

there is an srt-8 in my town that says ss eatr on the place. My buddy and i went to the same bar and saw him there. my buddt walked up to him and said he has $1000 on the f-body sitting out side, the guy declined and acted like he didn't care to race all of a sudden
Hope i see him at a light on night then he will read my plate 865-ZTB. LOL

they were running 7.80's all night. they tried to spray on me in addition to boost, but couldnt get their bottle to come on. lol, 2 power adders.
as far as an SRT8 goes, unless its turbo'd i wouldnt be scared of it.
maxwax also ran with me, his car runs 7.68 1/8ths and 11.49 1/4's
if i ever get to a real track, i think my SS will be a low 11 car.

SpeedAddict38: i live in Bremen, its on I20 west of Atlanta.
Trickstang, one of the cars was worth approx 50k, the other 60, thus 110. and 110 > 100.

B2300 (Fluffy) Retired- Plain-Jane Dodge Truck
Wow....didn't know the price of lightly-moddified Cobras had gone up that much.
Also, very, very, very few 03/04 Cobras are "cammed" - especially those that are supposedly making 22 lbs of boost (law of diminishing returns, given the cost of replacing all those cams). Going further, 22 lbs of boost means well north of 600 RWHP. If the guy was only running high 7's in the 8th, then you beat a poor driver.
Still a win, of course.
