went to track again! DISAPPOINTED!!!
i went to track today (US41, IN) it was my first time at that track.
i ran 9 times (hot lap.. didn't get a chance to cool the engine down)
first run 13.8@101mph with crappy 2.18 60'
second run 13.7@102mph with 2.1 60'
third run: 14.8@89mph with 2.1 60' ( i missed third and damn shifter wouldn't grab the third.. finally it grabbed but the car wouldn't pull at all and i relaized i was in fifth and i dropped back to 3rd but the game was over already)
fourth run 13.6@102mph with 2.0 60'
fifth run 13.6@102mph with 2.0 60'
6th run 14.0@90ish MPH wiTH 2.3 60' ( i bogged the hell out of the car, the dude, i raced with was JUST lucky cuz i couldn't launch. cuz he ran high 13s and he was the one who wanted to race)
seventh run 13.6@102mph with 2.0 60'
eighth run 13.6@102mph with 2.0 60'
Last run 14.4@96mph with 2.1 60'
i know i can drive better.. and i know i will dig into 13.4 again and again and again..
i think if i would have cooled my engine down pretty good, i would shave off a good .1 or maybe .2 of sec on my ET. track was empty so we wanted to just keep racing and i kept running 13.6 all day. ( i went to track for at least 13.5s but no luck)
oh well..
P.S. i was driving my 06 stang GT.

How was the track? Last time I was there, it seemed pretty good. But I know in this colder weather, it can be iffy. Overall, your 60's weren't that bad. I am not sure what rear wheel drive cars average, but for front wheel, those aren't bad on street tires.
Good luck next time.

2.0's on street tires is great.
I know he has done slightly better though and I think that is why he was a bit disappointed.

i swear i could have done better.. track was hooking pretty good but i was like a chicken off the line.. i raced with equal cars and i just thought of race not my ET and thats why i sucked. also, i am pretty sure if i would have let the engine cool down a for a bit, i could have done better.. i just did hot lap.. didnt stop..

Rear should be fine.
Clutch will be okay...but it won't hold up to a ton of hard launches.
Consider suspension upgrades.
Help those tires stay planted.
Not sure of the stock Mustang GT's...but you may not get much better on a stickier tire. Of course...I am not sure of that. Wheel hop may come into play depending on the stock suspension.
You will love those tires though. They plain out hook.

Yea man.....hehe I was embaressed when i first ran my car with my cam and stall cuz I was getting HORRIBLE TIMES! You have a pretty damn good 60 ft for street tires, specially for first time running the car....WIth my suspension on, stall and cam, Im only running 1.8 60 ft.......2.0 is awsome for street tires for the first time, or accually for running street tires at all. Ive seen experienced guys running 1.9 and 2.0's with 4.10 gears and all.
Dont be dissapointed u got more in it man....thats a good start just keep it up

our rear end is 8.8'', so do you think if i rev up to 5000 rpm and dump the clutch, will i break anything? or will i spin at all with those tires? i need 1.7ish 60' ( that is the only reasion i got these tires, otherwise i can cut 1.9is 60' almost whenever i want on my street tires.. i need better 60')
if i wouldnt worry about my rear end and clutch, i would rev upto 6000rpm and dump the clutch and prolly cut low 1.7s MAYBE 1.6s 60'

I launch from 3700 and cut 1.67's.
Of course, I do have a bit more power. 440 RWHP/400 ft/pounds
I need to leave from about 4400.
I would be more worried about your driveshaft honestly. But like I said...I really am not sure what that car can handle.

At my altitude it makes 440 RWHP. That is what gets put to the wheels here.
If I was down there...it would be closer to 525-530.
