    Went to the track...

I went to the track tonight here in Baton Rouge. I say I had some pretty decent runs considering this was my first since I got the car at the end of October. My reaction time really sucks , but practice makes perfect!!

My mods are a whisper lid, homemade loudmouth exhaust , and subframes. Will be doing a little more work on it in a week (hopefully Thunder Racing gets all my parts in). If you have any suggestions are criticism please post.

You were spinning out of the gate alot on the second pass huh....?

Thats why your trap speed was the highest. Your car is a 6 speed..?

Yeah I have a 6 speed. It did spin a little but I was acting like a little kid on Christmas morning and could not take off for crap. It would bog down then big up and take off like a bat out of hell. Just need more practice.

Are you rolling through the water box when pulling in the lane........Or driving around it?
Also are you doing any kind of "burnout" with that street tire?

I would drive around it and back into the water box like every body else. I would do a little burn out in it. I just couldn't launch it at all. I did won't to dump the clutch and spin throught second, so i would rev up a little and just take off. Doing my burnout just felt weird. After i would let off the gas it seemed like it was still spinning a lot. I know my clutch was acting fuuny but it is all stock. Just hope I didn't screw something up the other night when i burning my tires. I thought i was spinning but i wasn't. Burn't clutch stinks!!

Don't back into the water at all!!! Just roll back 15-20 feet stoping BEFORE the water and pop the clutch from LOW rpm like 1600-1800 and only let the tires spin a few times........Just enough to clean off the tread. With a regular street tire like that it makes it spin worse with any type of burnout.

Just try it next time a few passes and I'll bet money they will be your best yet!!

Sorry to inform you but a regular street tire doesn't like heat!!!
    It makes them spin worse.
My car does 1.28 60 fts. on a little 275/60/15 drag radial so I think I got suspension and tire figured out by now.... But thanks for the tip.

I try that out the next time I go. Hopefully Thunder calls me and tells me to drop my car off so they can redo my suspension among other things. This was a good starting place to see what the other mods will do on the track. I guess i will buy some drag radials in the next couple weeks, just have to find some other rims though. Dam, to have fun at the track sure does cost a lot of money.

yeah but u got to love it... i went with some nito's, and they only coast about $125 a tire, there not to bad for street driving... you can't do crazy burn outs, but they sure give you one hell of a launch and a red light when someone roles up beside you... i'll never go back!

Yeah I've put hundreds of passes on tires too with a 14 second car. Once you get a regular street tire hot it turns into molten liquid rubber. And you sure as hell don't need to go into the water box for warming a street tire.
