My STR is kind of high at 2.6 (Yank SS4000). I have to do some suspension mods and get some better tires like M/T. Because I can't hook right now.
What was your goals? With the sticky tires, headers and stall. You should be sub 8.0. The Y-pipe and exhaust do help, but it will help even more when you get headers and the stall. Each mod on it's own doesn't make a huge difference, but when they are all put together. It really helps A LOT

You can forget that. You might wipe .2 off. You won't see a big difference in the 1/8th with changing your gears. The Y & SLP LM1 aren't gonna shave considerable time. The tune for gears & t-stat wont help either. Did you run your 8.70 with the stickies? If so, don't look for anything under 8.5 till you do headers and/or stall.

Should be possible. Your biggest gain will be from the stall.

I have seen where people went from 273 to 373 and picked up .3-.34 I ran the 8.70 with street tires leaving off idle. I have done SLP Y,SLP Loudmouth 1 and all the other mods but LID,K&N,Smooth Bellows. Iam gonna do 373,160 stat. But when I have it tuned Iam gonna get it tuned for the mods I have. I talked to Frost and he said I can get another 14-24HP to the wheels with a tune with the mods I have..

It's possible, every car is different.
My previous owner had his car tuned with long tube headers and exhaust with a PCMforless tune.
I tuned it at a dyno and added a stall and LS6 intake. I gained about 15 hp. I ended up with 334rwhp/340rwtq.
So all I can say is, IT'S POSSIBLE.
A stall can eat HP, so don't worry about HP since you have an auto. The stall, tires, and tune are gonna do amazing things for you AT THE TRACK. The gears should help a bit, but not as much. The stall will bring your RPMS up quickly and stalls also have shift extension to keep you in your power band. Depends on the stall. Mine keeps me at 5500 RPMS or so after every shift.

Ok thanks, My buddy had a 98 A4 LS1 Z28 with 373 gears K&N and had the computer tuned for 373s and it ran 8.40 all day at the track with street tires. The stall/LTs/ORY is gonna be about a year down the road. Next time I take it to the track I will have theses mods.
SLP Lid,K&N,Delphi 85mm,Smooth bellows,Throttle Body Bypass,160,SLP Y,SLP Loudmouth 1,373 gears,MT Drag Radials,Tune..

Like I said, every car is different. You could run a mid 12....or 8.0 since you are at the 1/8th, just depends if you can get that '60 down. Which you should since you have M/T soon.

Well I'm not sure because I've never had this problem. All I know is that...If you sensor detects knock, the computer cuts timing, which can hurt your HP. I'm not sure what the computer does if the knock sensor isn't working.
Try a search or google it. Or start a new thread if you can't find anything.

The dealership I bought it from is fixing my car at no charge. I just seen on ls1tech someone went from 273 gears to 342 gears and went from 13.03@107 to 12.76@109. Thats .27 and 2MPH gain. What should my Y-Catback help me. How about my Sticky tires Say Exhaust .1-.2 stickey tires.1 -.2.
I ran a best of 8.70-.27= 8.43-.1=8.33-.1=8.23 If my car picks up atleast this is what my car should run...Iam going to 373 not 342s so I might pick up .3-.34.

honestly the y and cat back CAN BE 2 tenths 1/4 mile thats what my friends car picked up and yes goin from 273 to 373 is a huge diference in gear but in 1/8 mile may only see 1-2 tenths now 1/4 mile be bigger improvement i'd say realisticly 3 tenths definately let us know

Iam hoping to drop some more in time for next year. With an install of my Y-Catback,373s,160,Tune,M/T Darg Radials. Iam hoping to knock off .4-.5. I think I would have seen a better time with just drag radials for I could stall it up with out spining. How much should I pick up with theses mods.
M/T Drag Radials-
