    went racing last night

Went to Lebanon Valley last night. I ran better than last time, but still a little disappointed. I got 4 runs in, temp was 65-70 degrees with 90%+ humidity. Mods are a lid and magnaflow catback, running Fuzion ZRi's 275/40-17 with about 50% tread

    60': 2.303
    330': 6.102
    1/8: 9.146 @ 81.2mph
    1000': 11.737
    1/4: 13.936 @ 102.79mph

    60': 2.291
    330': 6.062
    1/8: 9.100 @ 81.45mph
    1000': 11.689
    1/4: 13.874 @ 103.40mph

    60': 2.288
    330': 5.990
    1/8: 8.985 @ 82.63mph
    1000': 11.544
    1/4: 13.710 @ 104.31mph

    60': 2.393
    330': 6.088
    1/8: 9.082 @ 82.65mph
    1000': 11.633
    1/4: 13.787 @ 104.93

I know my 60' times suck balls, but if I were to cut it down to a 2.1 or 2.0 what would I expect for times? I was launching from 2,000rpm.

Did the humidity effect my time? My last best was a 13.86 @ 105mph with a 2.4 60' (was my first time ever drag racing a track) and the temps were 50 degrees and 60% humidity.

Any help/tips/input would be greatly appreciated!

    So the old PP held your motor together after all. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

So we need more details. Are you still spining @ 2000 grand out of the gate?
You drove around the water and did a VERY small burnout right?

What gear you got in the ?
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

It sure did! Engine ran great all night

I drove around the water and did a small burnout (lasted about a second or two)

I experimented with a couple launches, two at 1,500 and two at 2,000. My last run (the 13.78) I launched at 2k and spun a bit through first gear, but from my point of view it didn't seem like it was a 2.4 60'

All the other runs, it seems like the car FEELS good off the line, but it doesn't translate to the paper.

I have no idea what gears I have in the , how do I check?

I honestly think I might just be bogging the engine off the line. How might I go about practicing?

Also, would anyone happen to have any or know where to find in-car videos of any stockish LS1's from the drag strip?

Well the saying goes basically for every tenth you drop in the 60ft. you'll drop 2 tenths off your ET. So if your running 13.8's with a 2.3 60ft. and 2.1 would be around 13.4, and a 2.0 would be 13.2

    i suppose practice makes perfect!

does the rest of my times look ok? (1/8 mile, trap speeds, ect)

With rolling through the water with those steam roller tires those times are no to be observed. Start again and we will go from there.

    Try launching from a idle.

Also I would hit up a local junkyard and get a set of V-6 springs. They should be $40-60 and will be one of the best investments you can make.
Once you change out those springs it will help to un-do the end links on the front sway bar which will allow for more front end travel which ='s better weight transfer.

I would take a sharpy and mark that bolt you are removing for the end links and take a cut off wheel on a dia. grinder or a hack saw and cut off the excessive threads that way it is quicker to remove next time.

I was hoping to try and get the best times with what I've currently got in the car, as I don't have any major plans for it.

When I first went to the track, I launched from an idle all night and only managed a best of 13.86 @ 105, but that was with a 2.43 60'. I didn't spin the tires off, it just didn't get up and go like I wanted it to.
