pretty consistent times....

Yes it is it has always been consistent.. Now I got a baseline what my car runs before I install my Stall/373s/LT's/ORY/160stat/DR's.. This was my 1st time running 1/4 mile..It was so much fun. I think its better than racing 1/8th mile..

Thanks man..only if I could had won 1st round..I dial 13.25 and I ran 13.27 but the guy came around me top end.. I was gonna put a 13.27 but I put a 13.25 to be safe..He got me on the tree. I had a .060 r/t and he had a .017 and he dial 9.43 and ran a 9.46.Now its time to install my go fast parts..

Here is the D/A of the best run.. 199ft above sea level and 99.42% Relative Densty

You my friend have me by about .3 give or take a hair just a hair over 2 mph.
You are running at 199 feet above sea level and I was at 632. I wonder how much difference the 433 feet makes between us. For 2.73s our cars dont run too bad. Not sure about my relative density or how to find out what it was. lol
I am torn between 3.42s and 3.73s! The girl friend wants to get me gears and a bearing kit for my rear end. I found motive gears for $154.95. How much difference do you think 3.73s will make? Also, think you/we will have a lot of issue with traction?

I have did alot of searching and I have found people going from 273s to 373s they gained .30-.40 using DR's. I would go 373s.I have a 3200 stall/373s/LT's/ORY/160stat/DR's ready to go on my car..Now I have a base line what my car runs before the mods..But I gotta remember the D/A because that does matter.. I have a link right here for you can find out your relative density..http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...t+Weather+Data

Very cool man!
You also benefit from the revised cam and intake vs my 2000. There is a few extra ponies right there. I will probably do all the "free mods" this winter and I know of a wrecked LS1 that I might see if I can take the intake and heads from and maybe do a bit of porting and polishing.....lol Would like to get the car down to about 13 flat but not sure if I can do that on my strict budget! Beer budget with champaign taste!
Does anyone use/make drag bags for the LS1 cars to help plant the power to the ground better? I had them on my LS1 GTO M6 and cut a 1.905 60' with driving 100+ miles, being heat soaked, and 33+ air pressure.

all the free mods FRA/TB bypass/P&P TB/bump stop mod pick me up .11 in the 1/8 back when I did it.Have you took your spare tire and jack and front sway bar and bracket out/off yet thats 50 pounds right there.. You can find deals on ls1tech My car just turned 48K miles..I'am hoping for low 12s to 12.2s or even a 11s pass with what I'am about to do..I'am gonna do weight reduction this winter also.. I'am not sure about drag bags for the camaro.
did you see what the correction what your car should had ran in perfect condition..Last edited by EVIL-LS1; 10-25-2010 at 07:00 PM.

.11 in the 1/8 is what, about .15 1/4?
I did take the jack and tire out for the last run but it did nothing.....lol Spun a little off the line and had a 2.10X 60'. I wanted to see what the car ran in street form anyway.
You have some lofty but easily reachable goals my friend. Wish I had the cash to shell out for that but I am probably going to end up selling it next fall. It is pretty much my daily driver till next winter when I finish school.

What 373s/Stall/LT's/ORY/160 stat/Tune/Pulley/weight reduction. There is a guy on LS1tech with full exhaust stock 323 gears 3500 stall on skinny/wides with a hypertech tunner running 11.88@114/117 mph..He has no weight reduction yet with stock internials
My buddy with the same stall/LT's/DR's/323s Ran 12.12@112mph. I'am gonna have 373s and weight reduction..So I think my goal is pretty do a able. I have a LS6 intake over my buddys LS1 I only have 48K his has 120K plus..
My best with just Lid/Cat back/Free mods is a 13.23@106mph. I should be able to pickup at least a second with the mods I'am doing..Last edited by EVIL-LS1; 11-12-2010 at 12:38 PM.

It's the internet and people can say anything. Frankly a full weight LS1 4th gen with nothing but a stall and tires and a hypertech tune isn't going to run 11's at 117 mph.
You do know what kind of HP it takes to run a trap speed like that in a 3500 lbs. car,,,right??
Even the other guy with just a stall, headers and tires going 112 mph is a pretty far stretch in a stock weight car.
I'm willing to bet there is alot more going on here than you are being told. Probably corrected times, possibly low elevation tracks with negative DA numbers, maybe other sneaky things going on.
I wish you luck, I really do and I hope your car runs well, but don't get high hopes.
Honestly your car with 3.73's, some weight reduction, a good converter and headers/exhaust with sticky tires will more than likely be in the mid 12's at around 108 mph. That's where 99% of all the autos I've whitnessed run with these mods.
What you are running now (low 13's at ~106) is pretty typical of most autos with the mods you have now.

My buddy I now the car I helped him with his car he has weight reduction His 1/8 mile time is a 7.88-7.90 at 90-91 mph. If his car picked up like mine did in the 1/4 his car would run 12.09-12.12 @ 112-113mph in 1/4.
My car went 8.62@84mph and 13.23@106 on a calulator thats 1.535 times to what you ran in the 1/8. The D/A for that pass was 199 feet above sea level
What your saying going from 273s to 373s/ stall/LT's/ORY/DR's/weight reduction is only gonna takee .4 tenths. Every 100 pounds is 1 tenths. I'am doing Fiberglass hood/15.3.5" 15x8 or 15x10 drag wheels. I think I should pickup more than .4 in the 1/8th with what I'am doing..
I have another buddy with just a 3500 stall and lid/borla cat back his best pass is a 8.08@88mph full weight thats on street radials also.Stock 323 gears. The D/A is very good here some times below sea level..Last edited by EVIL-LS1; 11-12-2010 at 06:17 PM.

I sometimes like to sit and calculate changes and how they should affect the car. But it doesn't always work out that way. Then you always sit and ponder, "I know the car has more in it" "if I only had tried this",,,,lol.
All you can do is make your changes and go out and run and see what you wind up with. Goodluck.

Like your last post "It's the internet and people can say anything". We use to not internet race we use to bench race...... The only way to find out what something will do is to test it at the track. You can have 2 cars that are the SAME.. Did I say same.. Add the SAME mod and you will get 2 different times.

Thanks ya thats the only way to find out.To add the mods andgo run it to find out what it runs..Times slips don't lie 8.62x1.535=13.23. Ya But mid 12s is like 8.2s in the 1/8. I believe I will be a high 7s car like my buddy.I will be happy with high 7s. I will have better gears and full exhaust he was running straight headers with no 02 sensors. I gotta wait till the spring to find out because the tracks are closing and will re open in march..

My buddy and me had the same mods Lid/Cat back/Free mods his best was a 8.58@86mph mine was a 8.56@85mph on the same day. Stall/LT's/DR's/Tune he ran 7.88-7.90@90-91 mph. I have the same stall LT's/3 ORY/SLP LM1/373/DR's
He had 323s and straight headers running no 02 sensors and he went from 1.9-2.0 60ft to 1.70-1.73 60ft my best 60ft is 1.99 and 2.0s..Last edited by EVIL-LS1; 11-12-2010 at 06:35 PM.
