    Weight removal question

I just removed my back seat & belts and spare tire & jack to lighten the load and it seems i get more wheel spin now. Is there a fix for this? Am I being stupid by doing that? Thanks.

The wheelspin is probably due mostly to the spare tire being removed. Where it sits right over the right rear tire, it used to help with traction a little. Most people will relocate their battery to that space in order to gain the traction back and improve the looks of the engine compartment.

to reduce tire spin without adding weight , do a little research on the various suspension upgrades available for our vehicles

I don't think it matters much. the tire and jack i removed from my car the other day could not have weighed more than 50Lb together. as for the seats I don't know how much they way. Maybe you just need to practice your launches. I don't mean to sound rude.

    jack position

yeh but look where the jack is mounted it is actually behind the rear wheels and yes 50lbs does make a difference. plus the results are amplified the farther back it sits. its just basic leverage.

I said no more than 50lb could evelryel;;Tire 25lb + Jack 8lb= 33lb. Like I said It doesn't make MUCH of a difference. Trust me I've taken my tire and jack out a few days ago and I've not noticed MUCH of a differents. Key word,MUCH.

I didn't weigh it but I'd estimate about 30 lbs. The seat cushions are extremely easy to do (1 bolt) but very light (<1 lb?). The Back is probably 15-20 lbs and the belts are probably about 5 lbs each.

I just hit the drag strip tonight and have horrible results:

    60' 2.47
    330' 6.53
    ET@594' 8.9209
    1/8 ET 9.47
    1/8 MPH 81.24

    I had lots of wheelspin.
