Yea another one of these threads, lol. Im planning on taking my C5 to the track tomorrow and really have no idea what it might run. My biggest concern will be traction but I wanna see what you guys think it'll run if all goes well.

Mods: 2004 C5
auto w/ 3000 stall
vortech SC~ 8psi
Fast 90/90
borla headers
borla exhaust

This is the weak point. For the rears its a falken tire. 305/25/20. Not much for traction on the street. They are fairly new though if that matters.

Stay out of the water box!!! Mid to low 12's with the tire you are running.

Yea I plan on just lining up and seeing what happens. def no water box I dont wanna hit the wall. I need some different tires but Im torn since I love the 19/20 setup.. I was hoping for 11s but with poor traction Id be very happy with low 12s.

You would just need something different at the track for the rear wheel and tire IMO. I agree you have 11's in your setup for sure. The only killer I see is the tires. Heck you may come back and say you ran a 11 something.

Problem is there isnt much out there for a drag radial with the larger rims. I cant have 15s out back and 19s in front. Lol

True most DR have a tall side wall. I know they make a 16s that would work for you...

Yea i wouldnt mind having a different set of 4 wheels. then of course they would hafta be the same height so it didnt throw off the speedo. oh well though I'll see what happens tomorrow with what im running right now.

Please post your times good or bad once done. I know what my car runs on street tires. I also know what I run on a track setup. And yes the track setup does see the streets...

Well I just got back and wasnt too disappointed. Out of about 6 passes most were around 12.5 but I had a best of 12.3 @ 118mph with a 2.1 60ft. I could see the smoke rolling off the tires each time so I'm thinking with some traction I'll hit 11s. Did have fun beating up on a couple mustangs and a '67 chevelle ss with dual quads sticking outta the hood.

With the tires you are running not bad. Figured those would be the times you would run.. Now get some better tires.

Haha yea, you were right on. A different set of wheels for the track is next on my list.

I run a 295x45x17 M/T DRs on my C5 hooks like a bear. Get u some and enjoy the ride.

Yea i'll have to do that for sure. Im worried about what rims will fit on my car though seeing as how mine has 14" rotors. Thats cool to see you run 11.5's @ 118mph. Lets me know my car has more in it for sure.

You might look at billetspecialties. I can not link them since they are not a sponsor. Just google it and take a look. I know they make up to 17" wheels that will ircc clear your rotors. Give them a call and find out..

Thanks, I'll check into that but kinda thinking about getting some C5 Z06 wheels. Those will be cheap and easy to get.
