    removing front foam

    i've heard all kinds of stuff about removing the front bumper support but is that the foam or more behind the foam if so the foam can't weight much or is it worth removing not worried bout dragin or dd safety just want the facts thanks

    I pulled the nose off my Bird & removed the inner bumper with the foam attached to it. It weighed around 18 lbs... Not sure about the Camaro, but my driving lights attached to the inner bumper also.

    I only thing I could see being an issue would be support. The bumper may begin to sag without it over time.

    Forgot to mention -- the Burkhart bumper support was shown in last month's GMHTP article entitled "STi Killer". There were some nice pics of it on the car.

    I removed everything - foam, steel & plastic to get the FMIC in there. The whole front shell is hanging off the rad support & bolted to the fenders so no real underlying support for most of the nose. I bet it flaps like a mohanger at +130mph LOL

    Thanks, what I mean is all that unsupported plastic in the nose has to be getting deformed while approching the traps.

    Fog lights on the Camaro are on brackets & in no way affected by
    "THE FOAM"

    so i can keep the foglight and still get rid of some weight good to know like i said 1 day over winter i'm sure i'll get bored
