    new 408stroker NA results

My last post on here talking about this was back in July http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92246. Now after finally getting my shit together I went out and made a couple passes. Got my car tuned a week ago and it made 447 rwhp still full weight plus the weight of my 9" and iron block. I had my tire pressure at about 19psi and had a nice 1800rpm launch. Motor currently has about 300 miles on it. Here's what it did on the second/last pass of the night...

    Rt ... .461
    60'.... 1.590
    330.... 4.673
    1/8 ... 7.294
    mph... 93.88
    1000...9.550
    1/4.... 11.467
    mph...117.14

I think with a few more trips to the track and some cooler weather I think I can get 11.20's out of her but we'll just have to wait and see. The motor is also setup for the spray with the exception of a couple minor things. With the gas after a few practice runs I should be mid to low 10's I think.

    nice run dude.

I am diggin that 60', but I think you can leave a little harder cant you? are right up against the converter? if you run into twheel spin drop 2 psi from the rear tires, and see what it will do.

if you can take .2 off your 60' time, it takes off about .5 down track. every little bit helps on the launch

A 408 stroker and you could only get 447 out of it? That seems really low to me. Times are good, but that seems really low on power, at least to me.

Even being an auto, you still should be around 490-520 easily with a good builder. Still looking good though on your passes.

Let the motor break in, geneally you will get a few ponies from everything loosening up. I would also look into a little weight reduction.

All in All it looks like you have a killer combo with killer power. I would shed a few pounds if you are willing to do so. One of the favorite things i did was the bmr k-member. Not only does it shed 30lbs, but it opens up the under carriage tremendously. You will be amazed at how much more run you have to work with.
