Need help with Rev Limits for Shift Points

I have a problem with the car getting stuck in the Rev Limmiter before shifting.

Its a 99 WS6. I believe its the same heads and cam found in the 2000 Vettes with a 500/500 lift.

Right now I think the Rev Limit is set to 6000RPM according to the dial. Internet searching tells me the stock valves start to float between 6700-7000.

Anyone feel it would be too risky to set the shift points around 6650 and the Rev limit to 6800?

Not sure what you have going on here. Setting the rev limit with a dial requires an aftermarket box to be installed like an MSD digitial 6.
These cars have a limiter built into the computer tune,,,that I believe is set around 6100 or so. Can't remember exactly, been a while since I've looked at it.
If you are still running stock valve train there is no way your engine will see 6800. The factory springs are weak in these things, with as little as 70 lbs. seat pressure.
They pretty much run out of breath anywhere above 6,000 and valve float is right in that area as well.
6,000 is about as high as you want to go with the stock valve train.
