    LS1 track time q

I'm a lt1/m6 guy so i havent done much research on the lsx series motors nor the auto trans.

what would an 02 ls1 auto do in the quarter stock, and what would needed to get it to 13 flat?

    thanks all!

    (kid at work has one)

They usually run 13.4 or 13.5s stock. Typically, full exhaust(long tubes, ORY, catback) and a lid will get a LS1/auto combo at the 13 door. It all depends on driving ability and traction though.

i'd rather have a 16 second 6 speed then a 8 second auto... unless it was worth more, then id just sell it and get a stick

I'd rather drive an automatic LS1 powered car than a M6 LT1 powered car.

Thanks man, Hey got a question for you what are our cars supposed to run stock? Cause i hear that is a fast time, and i mostly read they are supposed to run in the 13.4-13.2 range?

I think anywhere from 13.3-13.9 is about average for stock. Autos are typically a little faster. I have heard that there was someone who got a 12.9 in a stock ls1 but I think he was a professional driver and he had more than one ls1 car to run. Not sure on the details though. Plus I am sure that was with a newer ls1 which had the ls6 intake. But there are a few guys on this thread who have gotten stock cars into the 13.0's

i think that is your car is a factory freak (lucky you). cause i have seen stock ws6's run from 13.2 to 13.7 stock and that is about normal

the black car is an M6 LT1, the film car is an 02 auto ss. Both have exhaust work.

I have seen stock 02's range from very rare high 12's to very low 13's up to 13.4-13.5.

I was at the strip tonight and thought I'd share the times. This was my second time ever at the track so there is room for improvement in my driving......maybe, the times were consistent for the most part (you tell me)

    1st R/T .650, 60' 2.230, 1/4 13.773@ 106.10
    2nd R/T.114, 60' 2.194, 1/4 13.622@106.67
    3rd R/T .538, 60' 2.078, 1/4 13.547@104.03
    4th R/T .323, 60' 2.241, 1/4 13.570@ 104.8

This was done with a stock 02, WS6 convertible.
