Hugger Orange- 98 Camaro
Just getting started
Drove to LA and bought a 1998' LS1 Camaro last week. Took it to the track this weekend for the first time. I'm not too familiar with the newer cars, but I've drag raced all my life. The car has the following mods: SLP Mass Air, SLP headers, no cat conv., ram air, and Hypertech III. The car originally was a LA State Police car and has since been painted Hugger Orange with gray stripes.
Best run of the night was 8.57 @ 89 mph. Ended up dialing the car @ 8.65. Serious trouble with traction.
I bought this car for one reason, year end bonuses came in and I want a kick-ass street car. I've had trailer cars all my life. And I won't lie, I bought a 24' enclosed for this car, but I want a street legal car. The engine, trans, and driveline are stock, it does (from being a Police car) have the sub-frame connecters, front and rear.
My question is: What do I do first? This car is strictly toy, but I want to keep it street legal.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated, and also, any resource for parts/services. I am located in North Texas.
Thanks

OK, how about specifics...
What stall conv do best? RPM wise
What gear ratio w/ stock trans? 1/4 mile
What's the best drag radial?
Will 15" Weld racing wheels(draglites) fit on this car? 16"?
What are the best websites for LS1 parts?
