    IHRA track rules

I am planning on running low 11's next season at a IHRA track and wasn't sure on what all safety gear I would need on the car. I read the online rule book and got confused, I race for fun and I am not in any class.

The only thing I figured out was I need a drive shaft safety loop, would I need a 6 point roll bar or anything else? I appreciate any knowledge as I would like to remain legal.

I know a good many of you guys are running low 11's or faster, can you help me out. I keep reading the rule book, I guess I am just not knowledgeable enough on the classes and other cars to figure out where I fall.

I am not nowhere near that time....YET.

However, I know you will need a DS safety loop, like you mentioned. You will also need a roll cage I believe (anything under 12s).

    Also, a certified helmet.

4 or 6 point harness (seat belt)
longer studs for rear end tires/rims.

Ah OK. Thanks. I knew I got that 12s from somewhere. Does T-tops fall under the convertible category?

Thanks for the responses guys, so it looks like I will need:

    -DS safety loop
    -6 point roll bar
    -6 point harness
    -Bigger rear wheel studs

Already have a certified helmet and I am not relocating the battery yet. From the rules it doesn't look like I will need a fire retardent suit or anything will I?
