I have not dynoed my car in years, but think it puts down about 500. The car weighs about 3680 lbs with me in it too, and front end heavy..

    and it'll lift 'em:

And like said, HP doesn't lift wheels....traction and weight transfer does.

Besides...you usually go faster with all four wheels on the ground
+1 Suspension and traction are the biggest part. Weight transfer next, and then horsepower.

375/365 in some high temps this day. But it has a spohn adjustable torque arm, lca's, and sub frame connectors. That is it! Stock shocks stock springs, and stock panhard arm oh and stock sway bars. Full weight, leather interior and full exhaust on 26" slicks.

I now have an auto car and it leaves almost identical making 405/384

I've been on MT's for 2 yrs now 275/17's and I'm on my 4th 7.5 10 bolt stocker ( i do my own labor, so at $100-$200 it hard to make the big change)
with 3.42's from a 6 speed... love it... best combo so far.

That's what I've always recommended for those contemplating a gear swap in a stock 10 bolt. Just isn't worth the trouble, much easier to throw a 3.42 6 speed rear in there and call it done. Way to go.

known 354/367 with a 12.22 pass I lifted the drivers side just enough to see light underneath it...don't know about passenger side. This was stock cam, engine unaltered, no nitrous with no front swaybar, stock wheels front, slicks back, lakewood rear lca's, stock springs, phr and a umi body-mount t/a.

Sounds like you just need some suspension tweaking. Mainly "instant center" changes to plant the rearend better.

Look at that pic closely,,,,see how the rearend is separating from the body on launch?? That's from changing the instant center, it's actually pushing the rearend into the pavement.
I don't remember Eganslp mentioning he had lower control arm relocation brackets,,,but if you look closely at the picture from the rear, you can clearly see he has them on the car (notice how the lower control arms hang down lower than usual??). What those do is move the instant center up and towards the rear of the car.
From there it's as simple as adjusting the pinion angle with an adjustable torque arm or mount, then tweaking tire pressures, air bag pressures, and adjustable shocks if you have them.

Should be a piece of cake to hook your car if all you have are headers and gears on a 315 MT drag radial. Not like it's making huge power (no offense).

Here is another example. This is my fathers car of which I built the entire drivetrain. Engine makes over 600 HP and over 600 ft lbs. of torque. But the suspension is extremely simple. Just a drag radial,,,with adjustable shockes set 50/50 rear and 90/10 front. Right rear air bag set with 12 lbs to keep the right rear tire planted, and I have upper control arm relocation brackets to change the instant center. I prefer to do the uppers because it's stealthy, you can't see it from the rear. On a 4th gen you don't have a choice unfortunately.

Anyway, here is the car at rest so you can get an idea of where it sets idle.

And here is the car at launch,,,see how much the rearend seperates from the body?? It cuts 1.5x 60 foot times at a weight of just over 3900 lbs, using basically all the same stock 1969 suspension pieces, just changing what I mentioned above.
