Pewter- 1999 Camaro SS
Goal finally hit
I went and ran the 1320x today it was hot. Da hit 3k when the gates opened at 8am. By the time I got my first run off the da was over 3650 and climbed up well over 4k. My first run was a new best
60'.......1.688
330......4.782
1/8......7.401
mph.....92.938
1000....9.612
1/4......11.592
mph.....117.631
Next run was over a 4k da on a half empty bottle (I had to bleed half the bottle down to drop the pressure it spiked to 1250 sitting in the car). Anyway went 11.71@115.6
Then I got word that I had enough votes and made it into the manufactuers cup which will be on tv. By the time I ran the da was back down to the 3600 area. I figured gotta go all out for tv so moved my window switch down to activate at 2200 rpms. So I get up for the first round and dial in at 11.55 and ran this slip
60'......1.618
330.....4.732
1/8.....7.340
mph....93.683
1000...9.534
1/4.....11.496
mph...118.819
I finally hit my goal and ended up winning due to a redlight in the other lane. I made it to the top eight and then driver error took place lifted half track and ran a 12.70@86 mph. No video proof of the run yet but stay tuned for 1320x @speedworld dragstrip

Thats cool Ruckus,,,,we were just down there with my neighbor for a Saturday night race. I went a few rounds with the ventura while he ran his 67 fastback..
I believe my neighbor and I are going down again Saturday in a week or two??? I have to check the schedule as I think they have now switched to earlier in the day, but I plan on taking my wifes SS down for a trial run.
Also going down for the pontiac heaven races that Steve puts on in april to run the firebird a bit. Just wish it wasn't so damn far,,,and I didn't have to climb the I-17 hill or I would tow the chevelle down there. As of right now I'm sticking to cars I can drive down without getting run over on I-17

Just checked the website, they are having another Saturday night street drags this coming weekend. Thats alot of fun,,,and with the cool night air you won't be fighting all the DA. Thats when me and my neighbor went down.
I also see on Friday they are having something called LOUDR,,,which is some sort of grudge racing with whom ever you want, either with flags or the tree,,,sounds like some heads up street racing type action. I'd love to jump in on that too. Only $15 all the runs you want.

I'll have to check into that. I would love to get into a program of fastest street cars. I have a chevelle that would fit the bill nicely.
I wanted to put this car in the muscle car class in a similar series but just can't follow the schedule around the country, so I joined UMTR back east and raced in that for a while,,,now I'm out west and there isn't any UMTR, I'll miss that. Would like to get into something like AZ street cars,,,sounds like it would at least be somewhat local.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 11-29-2008 at 05:08 PM.

I checked their schedule again. That Saturday night on the 6th we have to go to a basketball game in Phoenix,,,the sundogs I think,,,so I can't stay late but it would be the perfect time to swing in for a few runs before the game.
I've been wanting to run my wifes 2000 SS anyway and thats what I'll be driving down for the game. I just have to talk the better half into making a pit stop
Wonder how packed it would be with a schedule like that on test and tune day????
